5 Steps to Get More Out of Life

Are you stuck in a rut? Do you feel that there must be more to your life? Do you feel that you have lost your purpose?

Below are my 5 steps to start living the life you want, NOW!

1 ) Make a list

Make a list of all the things that take up time in your life. This could be your career, you relationship, what you do in your spare time etc. Write down everything that you do during an ordinary week. You could even keep a diary for a week and write down everything you do.

2) Analyse the list

Once you have finished, have a look at this list and go through the items one by one. Which things do you want to keep? Are there things you would like to keep but need changing? Which things do you not want to keep? Divide the list into three. Are you in a relationship, which is making you unhappy, do you want to change it or do you want to end it? Is your career unfulfilling? What can be done to change it? If nothing then move it to the list of things you do not want to keep. Keep going until you have three lists.

3) Make changes

Look at the list with things you want to change and the list with things you no longer want to keep. Start putting them in order, put the things that you want to change most at the top. Be really honest with yourself and decide which thing you want to change/end first. Do one thing at a time and cross them off once you have done them. If they are hard to do, ask for help from your family or your friends. Make no mistake, making changes can hard, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

The above may take a while but once you have done them you have created more space in your life. For space and time to do the things that you REALLY want to do.

4) Brainstorm

Make a list of all the things you want to do. Don’t think, just take 30 minutes and sit down with a piece of paper in a quiet place and start writing. What are all the things you have always wanted to do but never have done. What REALLY excites you? Keep going and make this list and write down all the things that come into your mind.

5) Create your new life!

Have a look at your finished list. Which are the things that will make you the happiest? Which are the most important to you? Are they feasible or do you need to take some steps first to get there? You are now ready to start you with your new LIFE!
